How we test every product we review
Our hands-on methodology, scoring and disclosure — start to finish.
We buy each product, test it on real tasks for at least a week, score fixed criteria, and disclose every affiliate link.
Trust starts with a method you can inspect. We do not score from spec sheets or press releases — we buy each product, use it on the work it claims to do, and grade everything on the same scale. Here is the whole process, start to finish.
Real tasks, real time
We use each tool on the job it is sold for, for at least a week. A payment tool processes real transactions; an editor edits a real project. A week is long enough to get past the demo glow and hit the rough edges that decide whether you would keep paying month after month.
The same scorecard for everyone
Every product is rated on fixed criteria — price, setup, support, reliability — so two reviews are actually comparable. That consistency is what makes a ranking like our best tools mean something, instead of reshuffling opinions.
What we disclose
When a link earns us a commission, we say so — every time, and close to the link. The score never depends on it; see our policy on affiliate disclosures for the details.
From test to recommendation
The same test feeds two outputs: an individual hands-on review, and the comparative picks that sit above it. If one of our reviews ever reads like an ad — all praise, no cons — hold us to the standard in what makes a review honest.
